This tea is an interesting combination of two differently processed green teas. It is part Gunpowder green tea, where the leaves are rolled up into little pellets and have a hint of smoky sweetness. The other part is Hojicha, which is a green tea that has been roasted, giving it a brownish appearance. It ends up tasting more like an oolong instead of a green tea. So the base of this tea is the roasted green tea, and then maple flavoring and apple pieces give it a fantastically sweet nutty maple flavor. If you like dark oolongs, this is a tea you will enjoy. You can steep it more like an oolong or black tea instead of like a green tea.
